Had been going here for years and it had always been great. Doctor is great and hygienists are great! But office and billing practices need improvement. Recently was notified as I was checking out from my sons appointment that I had a balance owing from my last visit for X-rays that insurance wouldn’t cover because they were done too soon. When I asked why this was not verified before they took X-rays, I was told by the woman checking me out that it’s not their responsibility to do that. She said all they do is advise of the services. I told her that has never been the case with any dentist I’ve ever been to and if they are advising me I’m due for X-rays, I expect they are checking the timing with insurance coverage rather than just performing the service and me getting a surprise bill that could have been avoided had they waited a week later to schedule the visit. She was very rude and defensive and showed no care whatsoever. After I left, I decided this is not the type of service I want from a dentist so I called and cancelled both mine and my sons future appointments. Update: This was a scheduling/insurance verification issue, not an urgent need for x-rays, as this was just a routine visit so the review response further justifies I made the right decision in discontinuing services with this provider. I’ve always been made aware when services rendered were not covered especially if the dentist or doctor deemed it necessary ahead of schedule. However, that was not the case here. I was simply scheduled one week before I was due for xrays for insurance coverage. I prefer a provider who helps manage my health and my out-of-pocket expenses.
